All grain is not the same We had the experience of growing wheatgrass and being in the commercial wheatgrass business over the past 14 years. During this period we have experienced different types of wheat. We have used wheat from Texas, Utah, Montana, California, and Israel, both organic and non organic. There are two types of corn you can buy: chemical free and certified organic. Most wheat is chemical free, the farmer may or may not use a herbicide to control weeds in their fields. When using chemicals in wheat will result in a different flavor in the pan so that no chemicals are used in their own grain. Then there is certified organic: Certified organic is the same as chemical free except the wheat is grown by farmers who have not used chemicals on their land for over ten years. The difference is certification.
